When I learned that The Shoreclub was closing this Spring (a hefty $175 Million deal that will see it change over to a glossy new hotel / residence), something inside me broke into little pieces. My heart. It shattered right there in the Delano lobby as the man with kind, apologetic eyes behind the reception desk explained the news to me upon our check in last week.
There’s some things that are as essential to South Beach as the salt air itself – and those legendary hotels that line the strip on Collins (Delano, Shelbourne, Shoreclub) are IT. That irreplaceable lobby… lined with flowing white drapes and breezy ocean kisses. That original art deco mood throughout the property (est. 1938) that Miami is NOTHING without. That seamless, romantic indoor/outdoor flow. The badass rooftop suite that got you feeling like Marylin Monroe.
Here, some photos from my last stay there a few years ago with my girl gang.

Shoreclub, you will forever have a place with me.
Hope to book a cabana with you in heaven.
